Free Rice

I came across the Free Rice website not too long ago. It’s a site which offers 20 grains of rice to charity per vocabulary word you correctly define. It’s a pretty effective way to expand your vocabulary skills, and it’s for a good cause. So far they have donated over 10 billion grains, and maybe a few thousand of those are mine. The idea is quite creative, if I do say so myself. Everyone wins: the sponsors of the site get exposure, the guy who owns freerice.com probably keeps money for himself to pay for “server costs,” the user of the site knows more useless vocabulary words, and most importantly – hungry people get rice.
